October 14-17th, 2026Albuquerque, New Mexico 2026 qUEER & Christian retreat
Join Rev. Brandan Robertson, special guests, and a small community of LGBTQ+ Christians and allies for a slow-paced retreat designed to nurture spiritual healing, theological imagination, and authentic connection. Set against the beauty and spaciousness of New Mexico, this gathering invites participants to step away from the noise of everyday life and enter a rhythm of reflection, conversation, learning, and community.
To preserve the intimacy and depth of the experience, this retreat is limited to just 20 participants.
This retreat is intentionally unhurried. Rather than packing every moment with activity, we will create space for meaningful dialogue, shared meals, rest, and the simple gift of getting to know one another. Whether you are exploring the relationship between your faith and identity, rebuilding a spirituality after harm, or seeking community with others on a similar journey, this retreat offers a space of affirmation and renewal.
Over the course of our time together, participants will engage in sessions exploring:
Queering the Bible — Reimagining how we read scripture through the lens of queer experience and liberation
Reclaiming Our Spirituality — Healing from fear-based faith and reconnecting with the sacred in our own lives
Building Inclusive Communities — Practical ways churches and spiritual communities can fully affirm all people
Queer Sexual Ethics — Honest and thoughtful conversation about sexuality, intimacy, and moral agency
Political Engagement for Churches — How faith communities can respond to injustice and advocate for equality
Training on the new Queer & Christian Video Curriculum — Equipping participants to bring these conversations into their own churches and communities
Just as important as the sessions themselves will be the time between them—space for conversation over coffee, shared meals, walks, and the deep connections that often emerge when people gather in honesty and openness.
